4 Boots 2 Ways: From Work to Weekend

After posting my fall boot buying guide, I got a request to do a post on how to outfit each of the boot styles I chose. I’m guilty of throwing on a tee shirt and scarf with my riding boots and not getting very creative when it comes to fall outfits, so I thought I’d challenge myself to come up with two unique outfits for each pair: one acceptable for work and the other for the weekend.

Outfitting the classic riding boot

The Boot: Pink & Pepper “Racer” $69.95 @ DSW

For work: Pair it with a button down blouse, cardigan and long skirt. Choosing a skirt with a high low hemline will showcase your boots without looking sloppy. A simple belt and gold jewelry will help class up this look.
For weekend: Instead of pairing your riding boots with bland neutrals, pump up a simple lace tee and chambray shirt by adding neon accessories. The pop of color instantly adds visual interest to a simple and cozy weekend look.

Outfitting the Dressy Knee-High

The Boot: Charlotte Russe Double Zipper Wedge Boot $42.50

For work: Stay cozy and classy by pairing the dressy knee-high with a pencil skirt and lightweight sweater. Finish off with a red lip and carry all your daily necessities in a neutral quilted handbag.
For weekend: Give your dressy knee-high some edge! Start with a printed dress and layer on a leather jacket. Add on colored tights for warmth and throw your wallet into a studded clutch. Perfect for happy hour or a night on the town!

Outfitting the High-Heel Bootie

The Boot: Seychelles “Fever Pitch” $139.95 @ Nordstrom

For work: Dress up your ankle bootie by pairing it with a belted LBD and colored blazer. Add printed tights to keep your legs warm and make a statement with a unique collar necklace.
For weekend: For a wear anywhere look, throw on boyfriend jeans with a peplum top (I’m loving burgundy for fall). Keep your neck warm with a printed scarf, then add chandelier earrings for some polish. A trench coat is the perfect top layer for the crisp autumn air.

Outfitting the wild pair

The Boot: Nine West “Charmaine” $180

For work: Wild boots aren’t just for the weekend, when paired with a fitted tweed jacket, peplum skirt and printed blouse they’re perfect for a 9-5 too! Keep your accessories simple with colored bracelets or earrings.
For weekend: Turn heads by pairing your wild pair with colored denim and a cream or blush sequin tank. Top off this look with a small clutch in a neutral shade and bangles to tie everything together.

How are you styling your favorite boots for fall?
